Can you imagine the size of the bottle of beer this opens?
The financial district in Pudong must be getting wild to be building a beer opener of this scale. This 101-story highrise will be the world's tallest building when it opens in 2008. Well it will be the tallest just long enough for them to claim it for a season before other parts of the world compete with their phallic symbols.
All jesting aside. The reason there is a big cut-out at the top is to give it some resilience against the wind. In many aspects this is as innovative as buildings get. It still looks like a giant beer bottle though.
I would love to see a large Tsingtao beer sign on the top
